Its been a while since we have seen these chunky chanterelles around the Dandenongs. Down here they seem to appear in random spots in Messmate forest, often in the northern and west face of the Dandenongs. God-tier flavour-packed chants! Sometimes these guys are almost smooth, other times with obvious pseudo-gills/ridges.
Weirdly covered in leeches, but flavour unbelievably good. Way ahead of other chants in the south at least.
