Its been a while since we have seen these chunky chanterelles around the Dandenongs, where a new species was recently found. Down here they seem to appear in random spots in Messmate forest, often in the northern and west face of the Dandenongs. God-tier flavour-packed chants! Sometimes these guys are almost smooth, other times with obvious pseudo-gills/ridges.
Weirdly covered in leeches, but flavour unbelievably good. Way ahead of other chants in the south at least.
Off for sequencing as always.
